legs stretched out before me under the table
window to my right
people on my left
eyes
some a bit wild and untouched
by the world as I know it
faces
brown and sleeping
worn, wrinkled
beautiful
accustomed to the liberty of
fields
and mountains
where the air is free to breathe
deeply
and minds are sure to wander
down
and around
country roads of china
tibet
black heads
one red
one blonde
resting on tables
and shoulders
hoping
to catch a few hours of rest
on this train
packed full of bodies
still and dreaming
of images
beyond the boundaries of this world
faces
brown and sleeping
worn, wrinkled
beautiful
accustomed to the liberty of
fields
and mountains
where the air is free to breathe
deeply
and minds are sure to wander
down
and around
country roads of china
tibet
black heads
one red
one blonde
resting on tables
and shoulders
hoping
to catch a few hours of rest
on this train
packed full of bodies
still and dreaming
of images
beyond the boundaries of this world

ReplyDeletezheng hao = perfect description. I feel as if I were there. You should keep a journal of all your poems during your time in China, then publish them upon your return and live on your royalties. hehe
